Humoristische roadmovie van Shana Feste (Endless love; Country strong) met Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel) en Christopher Plummer. Alleenstaande moeder Laura heeft moeite grenzen te trekken: ze neemt teveel verwaarloosde honden en katten in huis en kan haar 12-jarige zoon Henry niet de baas. Wanneer haar vader Jack, met wie ze weinig contact heeft, wegens wangedrag uit zijn bejaardenhuis gezet wordt, stemt ze erin toe hem per auto van haar woonplaats Portland naar Los Angeles te brengen, waar hij mag wonen bij haar zus Jojo (Kristen Schaal). Jack neemt echter in het geheim een grote partij marihuana mee in de auto en betrekt Henry bij zijn handel. Rotten Tomatoes (rottentomatoes.com) geeft een score van 51% ‘fresh’: ‘Boundaries benefits from a stellar performance by the reliably excellent Christopher Plummer, but his work is overwhelmed by the mediocre movie that surrounds it.’

About Shana Feste

Shana Feste (born August 28, 1975) is an American film director and screenwriter. She has directed and written The Greatest, Country Strong, and Endless Love, and also has writing credits for You're Not You.

Early life

Feste was born and raised in Palos Verdes, California. She has a sister. Feste attended UCLA. When her parents divorced, she spent summers at her father's in Texas. She earned a master's degree in Creative Writing and Screenwriting at the University of Texas at Austin and then studied Producing at the American Film Institute, from where she graduated in 2003. She worked as a nanny, waited tables and tutored to pay for her tuition. Following her graduation, she worked as an assistant at the Creative Artists Agency. She is married to producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.
