Vervolg op de jeugdfilm Shilo waarin de jongen Marty het schattige hondje Shailoh, een beagle, redt van de gemene eigenaar Judd. Ondanks de afspraak dat de hond nu van Marty is, wil Judd, die inmiddels flink is gaan drinken, zijn hond terug. Marty wil proberen de gemene man te veranderen. De film borduurt voort op het verhaal van deel 1 maar is zelfstandig te bekijken. De meningen over de film zijn verdeeld. Brian Webster (Apollo guide, i) vindt de film te voorspelbaar en Marty veel te braaf. Eugene Novikov (Ultimate-movies, i) waardeert juist het feit dat de film niet alleen draait om een schattig hondje. 'Instead, it's a simple but sincere exploration of human nature. What makes 'bad' people? Can we change them? If we can, how? These are questions that Shiloh Season tries to answer for kids while leaving enough open for discussions with parents. Sandy Tung is an American independent film director, writer and producer. He was born on Staten Island, New York. He received an MFA in filmmaking from New York University. His feature films include A Marriage (1983), Across the Tracks (1991), Confessions of a Sexist Pig (1998), Shiloh 2: Shiloh Season (1999), Soccer Dog: European Cup (2004), Saving Shiloh (2006), and Alice Upside Down (2008). Tung was also the first director of Asian American descent to receive the prestigious Directors Guild of America Award for his direction of the CBS Schoolbreak Special, "The Day the Senior Class Got Married" (1985).
