Biografisch drama van Peter Landesman (Concussion; Parkland) met in de hoofdrol Liam Neeson (Run all night; Taken). In 1972 werkt Mark Felt al dertig jaar voor de FBI. Na de dood van zijn baas J. Edgar Hoover wordt hij door president Nixon gepasseerd voor de functie van FBI-directeur. Pas in 2005 komt naar buiten dat Felt de persoon was die onder de naam 'Deep throat' informatie doorgaf aan journalisten Carl Bernstein en Bob Woodward van de Washington Post, wat leidde tot de onthulling van de Watergate-affaire en het aftreden van Nixon in 1974. Diane Lane is Audrey, de vrouw van Felt, Marton Csokas is zijn nieuwe baas L. Patrick Gray. De Amerikaanse recensenten zijn kritisch. John DeFore (hollywoodreporter.com) schrijft dat de sterke rol van Neeson de film boven water houdt: '(...) The solid ticking-clock biopic should perform respectably among serious-minded moviegoers, but lacks the oomph of a must-see. (...)'

Peter Landesman (born 3 January 1965) is an American screenwriter, film director, producer, journalist, novelist and painter. He wrote a number of cover stories for The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, The Atlantic Monthly and others, including investigations into global arms trafficking, sex trafficking, refugee trafficking, the Rwandan genocide, and the creation and smuggling of forged and stolen art and antiquities. He also reported from the conflicts in Kosovo, Rwanda, and Pakistan and Afghanistan post-9/11.

As a filmmaker, he wrote and directed the biographical films Parkland (2013), Concussion (2015) and Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down the White House (2017).

Career

Landesman wrote his first fiction book The Raven, which was published in 1995, for which he won the American Academy of Arts and Letters Sue Kaufman Prize for First Fiction.
