De Britse comedyserie Keeping up appearances werd uitgezonden van 1990-1995 en was zeer populair, zowel in Engeland als in Nederland (onder de titel Schone schijn). De serie wordt nog steeds herhaald. Hoofdpersoon is Hyacinth Bucket (uitgesproken als 'Bouquet'), een rol van Patricia Routledge. Deze opgewekte dame is vastbesloten zich vanuit de middenklasse omhoog te werken en terroriseert haar familieleden, buren, postbodes en andere slachtoffers met haar obsessieve snobisme. De scripts zijn sterk (waarbij de kracht vaak zit in de herhaling), er wordt uitstekend geacteerd. Deze dvd bevat acht afleveringen, waaronder Het pak van de Kerstman, Vervroegd pensioen en Wat te dragen bij het zeilen. De dvd bevat geen extra's.

Harold Edward Snoad (born 28 August 1935) is a British television producer, writer and director. He is best known for the television sitcom Keeping Up Appearances, starring Patricia Routledge and Clive Swift. He is also well known for having directed and produced Ever Decreasing Circles starring Richard Briers and Don't Wait Up starring Tony Britton. He also had a successful writing career, writing the radio spinoff of Dad's Army, It Sticks Out Half a Mile and the short-lived television series High and dry.

Directing and Producing Career

Harold Snoad joined the BBC in 1957 after working in the theatre, when Snoad first arrived at the BBC he participated in numerous roles, including as a ‘call boy’ for an episode of Hancock's Half Hour in 1960.
